Preparation Time.

Preparation Time.

Setup

You can find the preparation time under the Configuration tab > Setting, in the control panel.

  1. Customize Button : When you click on this a tab will appear on the right side of the screen. You have to enter the preparation time here, the value defined here will be the default preparation time for all orders (NOTE: this DOES NOT include the delivery time, delivery time has to be defined under the delivery rules)

  2. Add Prep Time Button : When you click on this a tab will appear on the right side of the screen. You can enter additional preparation time on top of the default preparation time here. You can also define prep time based on order value.

Configuration Explained

  1. Default Prep Time : this is the default preparation time for all order 30mins

  2. Additional Prep Time 1 : orders more than $150 will have an additional prep time of 1hr on top of the default prep time

  3. Additional Prep Time 2 : orders more than $50 and less than $150 will have an additional prep time of 30mins on top of the default prep time

After saving make sure you Publish Changes this forces the settings to be updated:-(as shown in the screenshot below)

  1. Go to menu

  2. Click on publish changes

How this works from a customer's standpoint:-

Let say the user choosesPickup and selects ASAP so the system would show the user the earliest estimated time as Current Time + Default Prep Time + (Add Prep Time 1 + Add Prep Time 2 + ...)**

NOTE: ** Add Prep gets added only when applicable.

As shown above Estimated Time is Current Time + Default Prep Time + (Add Prep Time 1 + Add Prep Time 2 + ...)**

Which is 11:54 AM + 30 mins (Add Prep Time is Not Applicable) = 12:24 PM

Additional Preparation Time : Since this is only applicable in two scenarios as per the setup here.

  1. Additional Prep Time 1 : orders more than $150 will have an additional prep time of 1hr | [12:19 PM + 30mins + 60 mins] 1:49PM |

  2. Additional Prep Time 2 : orders more than $50 and less than $150 will have an additional prep time of 30mins | [12:11 PM + 30mins + 30 mins] 1:11PM |
