Section printing allows you to send different order items to specific printers in various sections of your restaurant. For instance, pizzas and salads can be sent to the kitchen printer, while sodas are sent to the bar printer. Follow the steps below to configure section printing on your kitchen printers.
Step 1: Access Printer Settings
Open the Settings:
- From the navigation bar, select Settings at the top.
Go to Printer Settings:
- Select Printer Settings and enter your passcode to access the configuration options.
Enter Printer Utility:
- Scroll down to find Printer Utility and click on it.
Access Section Printer Configuration:
- Scroll down until you see Section Printer Configuration, then select the arrow on the right to open it.
Step 2: Enable Section-Specific Printing
Expand Advanced Options:
- The section will likely be collapsed by default. Open the Advanced Options section.
Select Section Specific:
- Make sure the Section Specific option is selected to enable section printing for your restaurant.
Step 3: Configure Sections for Different Menus
View and Create Sections:
- You will see different menu categories, such as food and drinks. For example, the Food Menu might contain salads and pizzas, while the Drinks Menu contains sodas.
Create Sections:
- Click on Create Section. There are pre-configured sections like Kitchen and Bar, but you can also create custom sections if needed.
Assign Menus to Sections:
- For example, assign the Food Menu (with salads and pizzas) to the Kitchen section. Select the section and hit Save.
- Then, assign the Drinks Menu (with sodas) to the Bar section and save it.
Step 4: Assign Printers to Sections
Select the Printer:
- Return to the Printer settings. If you're configuring the Kitchen Printer, assign it to the Kitchen Section by selecting Assigned Printer.
Assign the Kitchen Printer:
- From the section options, select Kitchen and assign the kitchen printer to the Kitchen Section.
- This ensures that only items like pizzas and salads from the food menu will be sent to the kitchen printer.
Step 5: Test the Setup with a Sample Order
Place an Order:
- Create a test order that includes items from both the food and drinks menu.
- For example, order a pizza, a Caesar salad, and a soda.
Print the Order:
- The full order, including the pizza, salad, and soda, will print on the Point of Sale (POS) printer for reference.
- The Kitchen Printer will print only the food items (pizza and Caesar salad) assigned to the kitchen section, while the bar printer will print the drink order.
By following these steps, you can efficiently set up section-specific printing to ensure that orders are sent to the correct printers based on the section of the restaurant, optimizing order management.
